Interested in becoming a Blue Badge Guide?
Training for the prestigious Blue Badge in the South East is provided by the Guild of Registered Tourist Guides. The last programme was completed in March 2011 and the next will be run in 2014 with qualification in Spring 2015.
If you live in the South East, love the area and would like to share that love with visitors, why not apply to become a Blue Badge tourist guide? Recruitment will be in Winter 2013/2014. Applicants will be asked to attend an interview and complete a pre–entry paper to test their suitability for the course. Applicants with fluency in one or more languages are particularly welcomed and needed.
The objective of the programme, which is accredited by the Institute of Tourist Guiding, is to prepare students to enter the tourist industry as qualified guides for the South East region. Registered tourist guides are qualified by examinations which are set and administered by the Institute of Tourist Guiding. Those students who are successful in these examinations will be awarded the “Blue Badge” for the South East of England. Click the link below to view the full programme details:
Interested in becoming a Green Badge Guide?
Green Badge training courses are held occasionally according to visitor demand. The courses are run over a 3-6 month period and the Green Badge guides are trained to conduct walking tours of their city/town and its attractions.
